The Nordecke, in partnership with the Crew Foundation, organized a coat drive outside Nationwide Children’s Hospital, collecting over 1,500 items.
Players including Darlington Nagbe and Sean Zawadzki matched donations, purchasing new coats and signing holiday cards for recipients.
Organizers say the event will become an annual staple, reflecting the supporters’ desire to impact Columbus beyond matchday.
“We want to show that the same passion we bring to the stands can lift our neighbors,” said Nordecke president Blake Reiber.
Distribution begins next week through local schools and youth centers, timed to the first significant cold snap.
